Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise will add two new immersive XR attractions starting September 17, 2026 (Thursday): "Zombie Storm," where groups of up to six people team up to fend off zombies, and "XR Mission Ninja Breaker – Yokai Showdown." Developed by Japan XR Center Co., Ltd., both attractions are included with the park's Free Pass at no additional charge.
From the Calm of the Aquarium to XR Screams
Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise, home to aquariums, attractions, restaurants, shops, and a hotel, is gaining a new gateway to another world. The moment guests put on a headset, the calm of the ocean gives way to a harsh battlefield swarmed by zombies from every direction, or to combat against yokai. That contrast is designed to add an extra spark to a day at the park and a memorable experience.
Look Behind You — Test Your Teamwork in "Zombie Storm"
"Zombie Storm" is an immersive XR shooting attraction where players walk freely through the XR space, fending off wave after wave of zombies. Zombies can close in from behind or from unexpected directions — a sense of fear that a home console could never replicate. Up to six players call out to each other in real time — "There's one behind you!" "Help!" — as they fight to survive together.
The moment you turn around, a zombie may already be right there. Players can experience the fear and immersion of being pulled into that world themselves, along with the sense of unity that comes from fighting alongside friends.
Take Down Yokai with Ninjutsu in "XR Mission Ninja Breaker – Yokai Showdown"
Players become ninja themselves in this immersive XR shooting attraction, using shuriken and ninjutsu to take on a stream of approaching enemies.
Moving through the XR space with their own bodies, players attack enemies, dodge incoming strikes, and counter with ninjutsu. Up to six players join forces to take on a series of yokai.
Waiting at the final stage is a formidable boss, the "Yokai King Baraki." Players must work together to defeat Baraki and save the world of Sakura Universe. The attraction offers a full-body ninja experience with a satisfying sense of teamwork.
A Fully Indoor Attraction for Rainy Days and Hot Days
Both attractions are indoors, so guests can enjoy full-body XR activities without worrying about sudden rain or heat. For those who find outdoor attractions harder to enjoy in the rain, or who want to spend part of a hot day indoors, they offer a way to move around and have fun with friends or family regardless of the weather.
The attractions are included with Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise's Free Pass at no additional charge. Guests without a Free Pass can also enjoy them with a single-content ticket for ¥1,000. They can be combined with the aquariums and existing attractions as a new way to enjoy the park regardless of the weather.
