Christmas Market in Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Returns November 20 With About 60 Stalls and Live-Kitchen Stalls for the First Time

Christmas Market in Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse will run for 36 days, from Friday, November 20 to Friday, December 25, 2026, at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Event Plaza and Red Brick Park.

First held in 2010, the market reaches its 17th edition this year. About 1.21 million people visited last year (a figure calculated from visitor numbers at Warehouses No. 1 and No. 2). With decorations brought in from Germany, where Christmas markets originated, it is one of Japan's leading Christmas markets, known for its authentic atmosphere.

This year about 60 food and shopping stalls come together. Alongside German food and goods, white Glühwein, which is trending in Germany, is served at about 20 stalls. The market also introduces live-kitchen-style stalls for the first time, an idea the event's organizers drew from an on-site visit to Germany, and weekly changing hands-on activities such as ornament making and Christmas bouquet making appear for the first time.

The centerpiece is a Christmas tree made from a real Sakhalin spruce (akaezomatsu) about 11 m tall, lit by about 20,000 LEDs. Light shows run every 15 minutes, including weekly changing illuminations and special effects tied to this year's theme. At Shinko Chuo Plaza, the gateway to Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, the free "YORUNOYO × Christmas Gate 2026" takes place, and the free "Christmas Village" continues its collaboration with Pokémon from last year.

This year's theme is "Connections" (つながり), offering a Christmas to remember through the encounters and experiences that happen at the market.

Highlight 1: Live-Kitchen-Style Stalls Inspired by Germany, Introduced for the First Time

The market introduces live-kitchen-style stalls for the first time, inspired by what the event's organizers saw on an on-site visit to Germany. Sausages are grilled on the spot, prosciutto from a whole leg is sliced in front of guests for the Margherita Prosciutto, and Krapfen, a traditional European fried pastry, is fried to order for a fluffy texture and the aroma of freshly fried dough. Guests can watch their food being cooked and enjoy it freshly made.

Maruni Wursthaus: Homemade Sausage Assortment

An assortment of four homemade sausages: a spicy seasoned sausage (ゲブルツ), a basil-scented Genovese, a mildly spicy chorizo, and a juicy coarse-ground sausage, all handmade by the stall's craftspeople.

Margherita Prosciutto pizza at THE PIZZA YOKOHAMA

THE PIZZA YOKOHAMA: Margherita Prosciutto

A freshly baked Margherita made with carefully selected Italian ingredients, topped with generous slices of flavorful prosciutto. The acidity of the tomato, the richness of the mozzarella, and the saltiness of the ham are layered together.

Krapfen, German fried doughnuts

German Fried Doughnuts: Krapfen

Krapfen is a traditional fried pastry that brightens European winters. Softly fermented dough is fried until fragrant and finished with a gentle sweetness, to be enjoyed fresh from the fryer.

Highlight 2: Weekly Changing Hands-On Activities

In response to growing demand for experiences in recent years, the market offers weekly changing hands-on activities unique to Christmas, so there is something new to try on each visit beyond eating and shopping. Visitors can make an ornament by drawing a snowflake on a glass ball, or choose their favorite flowers to bind into a Christmas bouquet, creating something together with someone special.

Highlight 3: "Premium Lounge" Returns, Limited to 5 Units

The popular fully private "Premium Lounge" returns this year, limited to 5 units. Guests can spend a relaxed Christmas time with someone special while enjoying lounge-exclusive special menus, with a view of the event's symbolic Christmas tree and Yokohama Port.

Opening the door reveals a Christmas like something out of a picture book: Santa's house, busy preparing presents; a children's room eagerly awaiting the big day; the Gingerbread Man's house from the fairy tale; a living room that conveys a traditional Western Christmas; and Santa's secret gift factory. Every room offers a special space where guests can experience the world of Christmas.

The food is an hors d'oeuvre selection from "Café & Rotisserie LA COCORICO," a popular Italian restaurant inside the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse building. The main dishes are the restaurant's signature rotisserie chicken made with 薩摩ハーブ悠然どり and a grill of Ibaraki Prefecture branded pork, joined by truffle-scented roast beef, veal pâté, and the Italian classic penne pomodoro. The dishes are prepared with carefully chosen fresh vegetables from Kanagawa. A soft soufflé cheesecake assortment comes after the meal.

The market offers different ways to enjoy Christmas in three areas, including the Christmas Market in Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse itself. As well as the main venue, which brings the atmosphere of authentic Germany, two free areas with illuminations and special collaborations return this year.

Overall venue map

Main Venue

The main venue is decorated with Hütte (wooden huts) and ornaments brought in from Germany. A Christmas tree made from a real Sakhalin spruce about 11 m tall, the "Illumination Roof" about 30 m long, and a "Tunnel of Light" are among the illuminations that decorate the venue.

An 11 m Real-Tree Classic Christmas Tree

The venue's symbol is a Christmas tree made from a real Sakhalin spruce about 11 m tall, decorated with about 20,000 colorful LEDs. A light show of about 5 minutes takes place every 15 minutes, and the show changes every week, so the tree shines differently depending on when you visit. A special show expressing this year's theme of "Connections" also envelops the whole tree in light, with one light linking to the next.

After the tree has finished its role, its wood is planned to be used in workshops and other activities in partnership with the shop ものとアート on the first floor of Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse No. 2.
