About Zen Kashoin

Zen Kashoin Kyoto Muromachi flagship store opened in August 2009 on Muromachi Street in Kyoto, where traditional kimono merchants have long been established. The shop's name embodies the spirit of welcoming guests with a heart full of flowers and offering confections that showcase authentic flavors.
This rare Kyoto townhouse, built in 1700 (Genroku 13), features a wide frontage. Beyond the noren curtain, visitors enter the earthen floor lobby where the atmosphere of the Edo period remains intact with its cooking stove and stone pavement. The shop sells freshly made confections prepared in the adjoining workshop. The adjoining tea room, with views of the inner garden and the lingering scent of tea, offers a relaxing retreat.
