On October 8, 2025 (Wednesday), a new caramel milk sweets specialty store BLUE POND will open exclusively at Daimaru Sapporo. This unique shop will offer sweets available only at this location worldwide.

The concept behind BLUE POND was born from the desire to create confections that instantly captivate people. Through serious dedication to milk and butter, the creators partnered with Machimura Farm, a pioneer in dairy farming with over 100 years of history, and Calm Kakuyama, which uses advanced technology to shape the future of dairy farming in Hokkaido. Under the supervision of these Hokkaido specialists, BLUE POND was born.

The store features two signature products: "New Texture Caramel Milk Sandwich" and "New Sensation Caramel Cheesecake." Both are caramel milk sweets unique to this location, combining caramel made from Hokkaido fresh milk with crispy dough.

The crispy dough base, made with Machimura Farm's Hokkaido butter, adds a delightful textural accent.

Machimura Farm

A pioneer in dairy farming with over 100 years of history. Founded in 1917, founder Keiki Machimura, who would later be called the "God of Cattle Raising," graduated from Sapporo Agricultural College and studied dairy farming in America for 10 years. After returning to Japan, he established Machimura Farm, becoming one of the pioneering farms that laid the foundation for modern dairy farming in Japan.

Calm Kakuyama

Operating a farm in Kakuyama, Ebetsu City, Hokkaido. This "Mega Robot Farm" advances dairy automation using cutting-edge technology. They have introduced robots that can milk cows according to each animal's timing, and computers manage the health of approximately 600 cows. The farm contributes to reusing regional industrial waste and is committed to sustainable management.
