Hanako Yoshida Solo Exhibition "YOU in the ART" Opens at ACTUS Aoyama Starting April 18

ACTUS Aoyama in Minato-ku, Tokyo will host abstract painter Hanako Yoshida's solo exhibition "YOU in the ART" from April 18 (Saturday) to May 17 (Sunday), 2026. Held under the theme of "Living with Art," this marks the third installment of Yoshida's series at the venue.

The exhibition features the debut of original paintings created specifically for this show, as well as a new series of limited-edition art pieces. These edition works are produced by capturing details from within the original paintings — details selected by Yoshida herself — and reproducing them at an enlarged scale using museum print technology.

Among the special highlights are the "YOU in the ART" series: art applied to mirrored surfaces, in which the viewer themselves becomes part of the artwork when they look into the piece. These are limited-edition museum print works available exclusively during the exhibition period.

The

Two original paintings in F20 size (606×727mm) will be displayed and available for purchase, along with 20 small-format original works in samhole size (158×227mm). The edition works will go on pre-order sale via the ACTUS online shop starting April 10 (Friday), ahead of the exhibition opening.

About the Edition Works

The edition works in this exhibition are produced by FLAT LABO, specialists in high-definition scanning and fine art printing. Their process faithfully reproduces the subtle colors and brushstrokes of the originals. Each piece is numbered with a serial number and available only at this exhibition.

About the ACTUS Aoyama Art Project

Since 2022, ACTUS Aoyama has hosted irregular art events under the banner of "Living with Art," bringing original artworks by artists directly to customers in their living environment. The project was launched out of a desire to make authentic art more accessible in everyday life, noting that opportunities to encounter original art in residential areas remain limited in Japan compared to Western countries.

About Hanako Yoshida

Having inherited the DNA of an artist father and an interior designer mother, Hanako Yoshida is a self-taught abstract painter who began creating and presenting work during her student years. Her pieces — characterized by bold textures, an original sense of color, and abstract forms that resist specific interpretation — have earned support from a wide audience.

She has held solo exhibitions at Gallery Q in Ginza, participated in the international art fair "Kiaf Seoul 2023," and held a solo exhibition at Azabudai Hills in January. In recent years, she has also collaborated with luxury brands and created works for high-end residences.
