Aeris Forest Park in Ota City, Gunma — a Hidden Rose Garden Straight Out of an English Movie

An Authentic English Garden in the Heart of Gunma

Aeris Forest Park began as a privately operated English-style garden before Ota City acquired the property and redeveloped it. Today it operates as a full-scale English garden that has become a favorite destination for both locals and visitors.

The grounds are planted with around 300 rose bushes covering approximately 100 varieties. Brick-lined paths, rose archways, and lush greenery create a landscape that feels like a scene lifted straight from a foreign film, and photogenic spots are plentiful throughout the garden.

Roses in Full Bloom — and a Peek on YouTube

The roses inside the park reached their peak in mid-May. Red, white, pink, yellow, and orange blooms fill the garden all at once, and during peak season the whole park is wrapped in their sweet fragrance.

Ota City's official YouTube channel has published a short video capturing the rose-filled park in full bloom:

Despite being a fully developed garden, entry is completely free. Crowds are currently relatively light as well, so visitors can stroll at their own pace without feeling rushed. For those looking to take a break from the city and enjoy flowers and greenery in a relaxed setting, Aeris Forest Park is well worth seeking out.
