Gunma Flower Park Plus (2471-7 Kashiwakuramachi, Maebashi, Gunma), which was renewed in autumn 2025, is hosting a lineup of Golden Week events from April 29 (Wednesday, public holiday) to May 6 (Wednesday), 2026. Azaleas and the Spring Bouquet Garden are expected to be at peak bloom throughout the period.

Main Golden Week Programs

"Kokage Kids Marché" — Second Edition (May 4–6)

Kokage Kids Marché

Following the success of the first edition, the second Kokage Kids Marché takes place from May 4 to 6. The market brings together stalls selling handmade goods and baby/kids items, alongside instrument experiences, relaxation sessions, and nail art — offering a variety of booths for families to enjoy.

Around 40 vendors will participate across the three days. To give children the chance to shop independently, some items are priced at ¥500 or under.

Florist Experience (May 4 & 5)

Florist Experience

Participants pick and arrange flowers alongside a florist, then make dried flowers to take home. At the end of the session, each participant receives the flowers they picked along with a flower vase as a souvenir.

Price: ¥1,400 (Reception: Kokage Tent)

Gardener Experience (May 4 & 6)

Gardener Experience

Working alongside one of the park's gardeners, participants plant vegetable seedlings and build a large bio-nest — shaped like a bird's nest. After the session, each participant receives a soft-serve ice cream ticket and a vegetable seedling as a souvenir.

Price: ¥1,000 (Reception: Kokage Tent)

Other Events and Highlights

Flower Field Music Live (May 2–6)

Flower Field Music Live

Free live music performances are held against a backdrop of colorful flower fields, covering a range of musical genres. The concerts are designed to complement family time spent in the park.

Koinobori and Botanical Art Activities

Children can try making an original koinobori (carp streamer) for ¥900, or create botanical art using pressed flowers for ¥200. Both activities run during the Kids Marché period.

Pill Bug Observation & Experiment with Forest Instructor Shirahama

Pill Bug Observation

Forest instructor Shirahama leads an environmental education session focused on pill bugs — the small creatures that play a role in building healthy soil. Participants observe pill bugs up close and conduct experiments to learn about their characteristics and behavior, including how many legs they have and which animal group they belong to.

The morning session is designed for beginners, while the afternoon features an in-depth cross-talk for clematis enthusiasts. Instructors include Akihito Kaneko, a familiar face from NHK's gardening program "Shumi no Engei," and Yuji Sekiguchi of Hana Sekiguchi Co., Ltd., a grower with extensive experience producing acclaimed varieties.
