A new indoor petting zoo, AniTouch Kichijoji, opens on Monday, October 19, 2026, a two-minute walk from Kichijoji Station on the JR Chuo Line and the Keio Inokashira Line. The facility is operated by Izu Shaboten Zoo Co., Ltd. (Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture; President: Kenji Kagoike) and occupies the 1st to 3rd floors of a building at 1-8-23 Kichijoji Honcho, Musashino City, Tokyo.
This is the first AniTouch store to have a street-level storefront. The AniTouch world is built across all three floors of the building, offering a special experience that visitors of any generation can enjoy.

What to See
Inside, the first-ever "Capybara Rock Bath" at an AniTouch lets visitors watch capybaras relaxing in their tub. The "Bird Paradise" area, a popular attraction at AniTouch Tokyo Dome City, is also coming to the new store. Birds roam freely in the area, so visitors can have one land on their shoulder or observe the birds up close. Familiar ring-tailed lemurs, hedgehogs, and guinea pigs, along with a wide variety of other animals, will also be waiting to greet visitors.

There is also no need to keep an eye on the clock, as the facility has no time limit, although a temporary limit may be set when the building is very crowded or when the animals need care. To keep visitors comfortable, the building has restrooms and a stroller parking area, and a coin locker is available on the 1st floor. Even visitors with a lot of luggage or families with small children can visit with ease.

The AniTouch Concept
AniTouch proposes "a new relationship of coexistence between people and animals," in which humans and animals move toward each other and connect not only physically but also heart to heart. Giving top priority to the welfare and comfortable living of the animals, it aims to be a place full of kindness where people share the same space with animals and come to cherish one another's presence. Rather than simply "meeting" animals, the stores are designed so that visitors can feel the warmth of their lives and learn how precious they are. The company plans to keep opening new stores.
More details about this store will be shared on the official website and AniTouch's official Instagram account as they become available.
