Juice Inc. (headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo), which plans and runs events and shops tied to popular characters such as Chiikawa and serves as a top partner of the Urawa Reds, is opening a new permanent store in Kichijoji, Tokyo, where hanko stamp artists and fans can connect. "Hancolle Kichijoji" opens on Friday, August 28, 2026.
"Hancolle" got its start in October 2021 at the Tokyu Department Store in Kichijoji, Tokyo, launched by 株式会社イデアル. What began as a "hanko collection" featuring a handful of artists has grown alongside the stationery boom, and by 2026 the lineup has expanded to more than 40 artists, with pop-up shops held at Keio Department Store, Ginza Itoya, Daimaru, and other locations. The pop-ups have drawn attention for their popularity, with some in-demand artists requiring entry queues or purchase limits during events. Juice, drawn to this artist-centered approach, is now opening a permanent store in Kichijoji, the very neighborhood where Hancolle began.
By combining Juice's know-how in planning and running character-related shops with the vision behind Hancolle, the two companies aim to bring even more of the appeal and joy of hanko stamps to fans.
The world of hanko stamps runs deep. Beyond simply stamping a favorite design, fans decorate planners with multiple stamps, use them to make cards and other crafts, and increasingly collect stamps from favorite artists without even using them. With so many ways to enjoy them, interest continues to grow.
Hancolle Kichijoji will permanently stock works from more than 20 popular hanko artists, and also plans to host artist events, live streams, and limited items available only at the store. Rather than simply selling products, the store aims to serve as a gathering place for hanko lovers where artists connect with each other, with fans, and fans connect with one another, growing the hanko culture further.
