A new handkerchief brand called Aven (エイヴェン) launched on April 15, 2026, at the Aven Official Online Store. The debut collection features five designs created in collaboration with graphic artist MIHO MURAKAMI, all made from 100% cotton and produced in Japan. Each piece is priced at ¥4,290 (tax included).
About the Brand
The brand concept is "A touch of wit, for everyday life." The name "Aven" is inspired by three words: "avenue" (a path), "haven" (a place of calm), and the Japanese word "縁 (EN)" — the idea of connection between people.
Aven's handkerchiefs are designed to be more than something to simply dry your hands with. They aim to be personal talismans of a sort — pieces that make you smile quietly when you notice a message hidden in the design, that give you a subtle push on important mornings, and that lift your spirits a little when you glance at them on a difficult day.
At 53×53cm, each piece is a large-format handkerchief that works not only as intended, but also attached to a bag or worn around the neck as a styling accent.
Collaboration Artist: MIHO MURAKAMI
MIHO MURAKAMI is a graphic artist whose work centers on animals, blending analog and digital techniques in a distinctive style. One of her signature touches is the use of photographs of human eyes within her animal subjects, giving each piece an uncanny, breathing quality. She has collaborated with fashion brands, created advertising and packaging graphics, and contributed visual content for the Dubai Expo 2020 Japan Pavilion. She also holds regular solo exhibitions.
At the time of this launch, MURAKAMI is also behind the show window design at Isetan Shinjuku's main building (10 windows in total), where she is presenting a spring-themed installation called "BLOOMSCAPE." Each window features a layered world of spring flowers and animals, drawing passersby to stop and look more than once.
