JAPAN EDITION, the select shop devoted to Japanese craftsmanship run by TOKYO BASE Corporation (CEO: Masato Tani, headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo), is opening a new flagship store on Namiki-dori in Ginza on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
JAPAN EDITION reinterprets the traditional techniques, fine materials, and artisanal handiwork passed down across Japan through a contemporary lens, sending its vision beyond the boundaries of fashion, crafts, and lifestyle to audiences in Japan and around the world.
The new Ginza Namiki-dori store serves as the brand's flagship, sending Japanese craftsmanship out into the world from Ginza, one of Japan's leading luxury districts. Alongside a carefully curated selection of products from across the country, the store offers exclusive projects and limited-edition items available nowhere else, becoming a hub that introduces the appeal of Japanese manufacturing to customers from Japan and abroad.
To mark the opening, JAPAN EDITION carried out a special project with two brands that command passionate fans around the world: YAMANE INDUSTRIES and gold, the label from Toyo Enterprise. Drawing on each brand's manufacturing heritage and craftsmanship, the collaboration produced special items available exclusively at the Ginza store.
Through this special collaboration with brands leading Japan's manufacturing scene — made possible only by JAPAN EDITION — the new Ginza store will send fresh value out into the world.

Interior and Exterior Design
The interior and exterior design was overseen by Kamiya Architects Co., Ltd., led by Shuhei Kamiya.
Comment from Kamiya:
"At JAPAN EDITION Ginza, we reinterpreted Japanese architecture within the context of Ginza. For the exterior, we used a denim-colored tiled roof and lanterns to create a facade that evokes the streetscape and commercial history of Japan. The first floor is a store space guided by light, while the basement floor evokes the 'kura' storehouses that once stood in Ginza, creating a space with shadow and warmth. It is a store where visitors can experience the world of JAPAN EDITION within the city of Ginza."
Shuhei Kamiya
Architect and creative director. After training under Kengo Kuma and Bjarke Ingels (BIG), he founded Kamiya Architects, a first-class registered architectural office, in 2017. Working across architecture, interiors, retail, and design direction, he designs spaces that translate the value of a location or brand into spatial experience. Known for integrating material, light, circulation, and experience into cohesive spaces, his work spans hotels, commercial spaces, residences, and cultural facilities. Notable works include Kudan House, the Hayama Kaji Residence, and Hoshino Resorts KAI Zao (scheduled to open in 2026). He has received numerous awards, including the Architectural Institute of Japan Young Architect Award, the Good Design Award, and the Gold Prize at the Japan Spatial Design Award.
