The skin and mind brand BAUM, with its theme of "coexistence with trees," is launching a traveling pop-up event this summer. The HINOKI FOREST – EXPERIENCE WAGON will journey to five locations across Japan, bringing the fresh, woody-green scent of hinoki cypress to city centers where visitors can discover the brand's summer-recommended products.
Starting at the "Mori, Michi, Ichiba 2026" outdoor market event in Gamagori, Aichi on May 22, the wagon will travel to Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, and Hakata through June 28, creating a brief forest retreat in the heart of each city.
BAUM's Hinoki Scent
BAUM sources a key skincare ingredient called "hinoki water" from cypress trees and has been planting trees at the "BAUM Hinoki Forest" in Niihama City, Ehime Prefecture. The brand's hinoki fragrance is inspired by this lush forest, blending the refreshing natural scent of Japanese cypress into a modern composition. Structured across three stages — top, middle, and base notes — the fragrance creates a rich, calming sensory experience designed to nurture both skin and mind.
About the HINOKI FOREST – EXPERIENCE WAGON
The wagon is designed to evoke a forest market nestled among Japanese cypress trees. At its center, hinoki timber columns are arranged in a mountain formation, creating a visual display that recalls the "BAUM Hinoki Forest." Visitors can experience the products while surrounded by both the look and scent of cypress.
The wagon was created in collaboration with VUILD, a startup that uses digital fabrication technology — including 3D wood processing machines and the cloud precut service EMARF — to transform the design and construction industry. VUILD's vision of connecting "living" and "making" aligns with BAUM's approach of giving back to nature through tree planting and the upcycling of wood materials.
