BEB5 Okinawa Seragaki Brings Back "NEO Awamori Summer Night" for a Cool Summer Evening Experience

BEB5 Okinawa Seragaki by Hoshino Resorts is holding "NEO Awamori Summer Night" from June 1 to August 31, 2026. Now in its second year, the event presents awamori—one of Okinawa's signature spirits—in fresh, approachable forms to help guests discover the local culture through creative cocktails. The TAMARIBA public space is decorated with awamori bottles transformed into wind chimes and lanterns, setting the scene for a relaxed Okinawan summer evening.

Background

In Okinawa, a declining interest in awamori has become a concern, particularly among younger generations. A 2021 survey (*) found that the proportion of people naming awamori as their favorite alcoholic drink had fallen by about half over six years. This event was conceived to make awamori more accessible to younger visitors by highlighting eye-catching packaging and new ways to enjoy the spirit.

Three Highlights of "NEO Awamori Summer Night"

1. New This Year: Tropical Frozen Cocktail Finished with Your Favorite "Oshi-Pake Awamori"

A new "Tropical Frozen Cocktail" makes its debut this year. Guests first choose from a selection of frozen tropical fruit bases—either rich mango or refreshing pineapple—then pick a bottle of "Oshi-Pake Awamori" (awamori chosen for its eye-catching package design) to pour over the top, creating their own personalized cocktail. The playful packaging invites even those unfamiliar with awamori to engage with the spirit in an everyday, casual way.

2. Back Again: NEO Awamori Sour Bursting with Tropical Flavors

NEO Awamori Sour generously topped with fresh fruit

The popular "NEO Awamori Sour" returns for a second year, generously topped with seasonal mango or pineapple. The sweetness of tropical fruit is lifted by sparkling carbonation, with a subtle hint of awamori for a fruity, refreshing sip. The event-exclusive glass features a design of a girl floating in awamori, adding a photo-worthy element to the experience.

3. TAMARIBA Decorated with Repurposed Awamori Bottles

The outdoor banyan tree at TAMARIBA—the hotel's 24-hour public space—is adorned with wind chimes, lanterns, and candle holders crafted from awamori bottles. The cool sounds and warm glow create a fitting atmosphere for an Okinawan summer night. A kitchen car parked at the outdoor TAMARIBA also offers limited-time food pairings to enjoy alongside the drinks.
