Hamburger restaurant chain Bikkuri Donkey is bringing back its popular "Hamburg-ya no Menchi Katsu" (Hamburg Shop's Minced Meat Cutlet) fair for the fifth consecutive year, with a limited-time run starting Wednesday, May 27, 2026.
"Hamburg-ya no Menchi Katsu" Fair
The fair's signature item is a menchi katsu made from hamburger patty blend, coated in fresh breadcrumbs that deliver a satisfying crunch and a burst of juicy flavor inside. The lineup offers five sauce options, each available as a standalone menchi katsu dish or paired with Bikkuri Donkey's signature hamburger:
Menchi Katsu & Hamburg Dish / Menchi Katsu Dish (without Hamburg)
The classic Hamburg sauce — a soy-based sauce — pairs perfectly with the menchi katsu and rice.
Menchi Katsu Curry & Hamburg Dish / Menchi Katsu Curry Dish (without Hamburg)
A spicy curry sauce that pairs exceptionally well with the menchi katsu, offering a filling, satisfying meal.
Menchi Katsu Pepper Sauce & Hamburg Dish / Menchi Katsu Pepper Sauce Dish (without Hamburg)
A demi-glace sauce with black pepper added for a bold, peppery punch.
Menchi Katsu Oroshi-so & Hamburg Dish / Menchi Katsu Oroshi-so Dish (without Hamburg) (New this year)
A brand-new addition for 2026: the refreshing combination of grated daikon and green shiso complements the juicy menchi katsu, making it an ideal choice for those who prefer a lighter finish.
For dishes paired with Hamburg, optional toppings are available on the hamburger: egg or oroshi-so at ¥150 each (tax included); cheese (2 pieces) or pineapple at ¥200 each (tax included). Note that toppings cannot be added to the standalone menchi katsu dish options.
Renewed Menchi Katsu Sand
The "Menchi Katsu Sand" — menchi katsu served in a bread roll — has also been updated this year. Building on the original recipe featuring bread soaked in a house blend of mayonnaise-type sauce and Worcester sauce, a daikon salad (the same kind used in the dish menu) has been newly added. The fresh, crisp daikon salad brings a lighter flavor contrast and textural variety that rounds out the sandwich.
New Takeout Menu: Party Set
A new limited-time takeout menu called the "Party Set" is also making its debut. Designed for gatherings with family or friends, this generous share set brings together a selection of Bikkuri Donkey favorites in a single order:

Coinciding with the fair, an X (Twitter) campaign titled "Bikkuri Donkey de Ageteko" is running from May 27 (Wednesday) to June 2 (Tuesday), 2026. Following the official Bikkuri Donkey X account (https://x.com/bikkuri__donkey) and reposting the campaign post enters participants into a lottery to win a ¥10,000 dining voucher (20 winners). Adding the hashtag "#びっくりドンキーでアゲてこ" as a reply to the post doubles the chance of winning.
