BLANCA's First Overseas Pop-Up Opens in Taipei with Charred Crepes and Basque Cheesecake

Tokyo-based premium sweets brand BLANCA is opening its first overseas pop-up shop at the Regent Taipei (晶華酒店), a five-star hotel in Taiwan. The limited-time shop runs from May 5 (Tuesday) to May 31 (Sunday), 2026, located in the Regent Gift Shop on the hotel's first floor.

The pop-up brings together BLANCA's signature Basque cheesecake and pudding, plus the "enjoy the char" BLANCA Crepe — the same recipe that sold 50,000 units during a limited-time run at Azabudai Hills in Tokyo. A Taiwan-exclusive mini cheesecake set also makes its debut.

The BLANCA Crepe is made fresh to order, baked one at a time using a double-bake technique that produces an unusually light and crispy texture. The batter is intentionally charred for a toasty, fragrant quality. Two varieties of Japanese cream cheese — the same used in BLANCA's Basque cheesecake — are incorporated, giving the crepe a rich yet refreshingly tangy flavor profile.

About Regent Taipei

Chef Tetsuo Higashi of BLANCA

BLANCA was created by Tetsuo Higashi, chef-owner of "acá" — a reservation-only Spanish restaurant in Tokyo that has earned the Tabelog Award Gold for five consecutive years. The brand's Basque cheesecake, launched exclusively online without advertising, quickly sold out within minutes each day through word-of-mouth among food enthusiasts. Seasonal limited-edition flavors — matcha (spring), fig (summer), Japanese chestnut (autumn), and Kogyoku apple (winter) — have also earned a devoted following. A long-running pop-up at Azabudai Hills from April to December last year drew daily queues and attracted fans from Japan and abroad.

All menu items at the pop-up will be prepared by the Regent Taipei's kitchen team using selected Japanese ingredients alongside fresh, high-quality local Taiwanese produce. Prices and details are subject to change.
