Blue Bottle Coffee's "NOLA" Returns for Summer 2026

NOLA SUMMER DRINK

Blue Bottle Coffee is bringing back its signature summer beverage lineup, "NOLA Summer," starting April 9, 2026, available for a limited time at Blue Bottle Coffee cafes across Japan.

The NOLA takes its name from the abbreviation of New Orleans, Louisiana. The drink was born from the traditional New Orleans coffee culture of enjoying chicory-blended coffee with milk — a tradition that inspired Blue Bottle Coffee founder James Freeman as he searched for a new take on the iced latte. Brewed slowly and carefully, the chicory-blended coffee is combined with milk and cane sugar to create a drink that is mildly sweet, creamy, and rich with depth. It has become one of the brand's signature offerings.

This summer, the classic Iced NOLA is joined by two limited-time additions: the silky Nola Cold Foam and the indulgent Nola Float topped with ice cream.

Nola Cold Foam — ¥800

Available from April 9

Nola Cold Foam layers smooth, finely frothed foam on top of the classic NOLA. The silky foam features vanilla chicory syrup with a touch of coarse salt, adding depth to each sip. The velvety foam and refreshingly sweet milk coffee come together in a light, playful cup — a summery twist that makes every sip feel a little special.

*Not available at HUMAN MADE Cafe by Blue Bottle Coffee or HUMAN MADE 1928 Cafe by Blue Bottle Coffee.

Nola Float — ¥800

Available from April 9

The Nola Float is a summer-limited drink featuring NOLA topped with Biei Single Origin Milk Ice Cream from craft ice cream brand "HiO ICE CREAM," which has its atelier in Jiyugaoka, Tokyo. The creamy NOLA and smooth, refreshing milk ice cream slowly melt together into a dessert-like treat. Taking one to go and strolling through the summer streets is a recommended way to enjoy it.

Iced NOLA — ¥671

Available year-round

The classic Iced NOLA remains a year-round staple. Cold-brewed chicory-blended coffee combined with milk and cane sugar, this Blue Bottle Coffee signature offers a subtly sweet, chicory-flavored milk coffee that is rich yet clean on the finish.

Specialty coffee blended with chicory is processed into fragrant granules that recreate NOLA's gently sweet, chicory-rich taste. Just dissolve the granules in water, add ice, and mix with your preferred milk — dairy, oat, or otherwise — for a quick cup of NOLA anytime, anywhere. Each serving is individually packaged in a stick format, making it easy to carry to the office, on trips, or outdoors.
