Lights for Recovery in the Chiba Night Sky
From summer to autumn 2026, a series of disasters caused by heavy rain and typhoons struck Chiba Prefecture, causing major damage in many areas. At Resol no Mori, landslides and fallen trees occurred within the grounds and on surrounding roads, and the facility also suffered power outages and communication failures.
Affected by these heavy rain and typhoon disasters, Resol no Mori's Tanabata lantern event, planned for Wednesday, August 19, was cancelled. The "Otsukimi Lantern Festival," planned for Saturday, September 26 with wishes for the recovery and reconstruction of the affected areas, was also cancelled due to the impact of Typhoon No. 25. After these disasters and two event cancellations, the event is being held again as "CHIBA LANTERN NIGHT," with wishes for the earliest possible recovery of the affected areas and a bright future for Chiba.
For this event, under the theme "100 Wishes to Send to the Chiba Sky," participants entrust their individual wishes and thoughts for loved ones to lanterns, and 100 lanterns are floated into the night sky all at once. The warmly glowing lanterns color the night sky, creating a dreamlike scene in which each wish overlaps with the others.
At Resol no Mori, surrounded by rich nature, the event kindles a light of hope for Chiba's future, with the wish that a peaceful daily life returns to the affected areas. With 100 lanterns floating in the clear autumn night sky, visitors can share their thoughts for loved ones and entrust their hopes for Chiba's future to the lanterns.
