Sport & Do Resort RESOL no MORI, a nature-immersed resort in Nagara-cho, Chiba, is holding the "RESOL no MORI Tanabata Festival" from July 4 (Saturday) to August 19 (Wednesday), 2026. The festival takes place at Grandvaux Spa Village, the resort's hot spring glamping area, and features bamboo Tanabata decorations, limited-edition seasonal menus, and a special lantern-release event on the night of the traditional lunar Tanabata.

Bamboo Tanabata Decorations and Summer Atmosphere
Throughout the festival, real bamboo harvested during the resort's grove maintenance will be displayed as Tanabata decorations at Grandvaux Spa Village. Guests can write wishes on tanzaku (paper strips) and hang them on the bamboo, while wind chimes swaying in the forest breeze add a cooling, festive touch to the summer resort experience.
Special Lantern Release and Stargazing Event (August 19)
Although Tanabata is now widely celebrated on July 7, the festival traditionally falls on the 7th day of the 7th month of the lunar calendar. In 2026, that date is August 19 (Wednesday) — a night when the Milky Way, the Summer Triangle, Vega, and Altair shine at their clearest.
To mark the occasion, a special evening event will take place at the resort:
Schedule (August 19)
| Time | Activity | Venue |
|---|---|---|
| 6:00 PM (until 7:30 PM) | Registration | Hotel Trinity Shosai, 1F |
| 7:40 PM | Lantern lighting and release | Lac Léman Pool poolside |
| 8:00 PM | Stargazing tour (indoors if cloudy) | First Ground |
| 9:00 PM | Tour ends | — |

After the lanterns float into the night sky, guests join a guided stargazing tour led by Associate Professor Hidehiko Agata of the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan. Under his guidance, participants can observe Tanabata-related stars — Vega (the Weaving Princess), Altair (the Cowherd), the Milky Way, and the Summer Triangle — while listening to expert commentary. Picnic sheets are recommended, as guests will recline to watch the sky.
Lantern Ticket Prices
- Overnight guests: ¥4,000 per lantern (tax included)
- Day visitors: ¥5,000 per lantern (tax included)
100 lanterns are available in total. Each lantern purchase includes stargazing tour entry for 2 people. Additional participants can join the tour for ¥1,000 per person (tax included), and stargazing tour entry is required for all participants aged elementary school age and above. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor venue but cannot enter Hotel Trinity Shosai.
Limited-Edition Summer Menu
Yogurt and White Wine Verrines — Restaurant Boulogne

A three-layer verrine made with yogurt mousse, sweet-and-sour pineapple jelly, and a white wine gelée. The transparent gelée layer is designed to evoke the Milky Way flowing across the night sky. ¥410 (tax included), available at Restaurant Boulogne during the festival period.
VEGA and ALTAIR Cocktails — BAR Momiji

Two limited-edition cocktails inspired by the Tanabata stars are available at BAR Momiji during the festival. VEGA is a passionate red, fruity cocktail representing the Weaving Princess's love for her once-a-year reunion. ALTAIR is a refreshing blue cocktail made with Calpis, blue curaçao, and soda, capturing the Cowherd's steadfast devotion. Gold rim decorations on both glasses evoke the Milky Way separating the two stars. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions are available. ¥1,200 per cocktail (tax included).
