Five Calbee snack products are getting a summer makeover in time for June 21 "Snack Day" (スナックの日). Starting the week of June 15, 2026, Sapporo Potato Tsubutsubu Vegetable, Sapporo Potato Barbecue Flavor, Saya Endo Salt Flavor, Motozu Takoyaki Tei Nostalgic Sauce Flavor, and Vege Tabel Light Salad Flavor will gradually switch to limited-edition summer festival packaging nationwide.
Background
June 21 was designated "Snack Day" by the All Japan Confectionery Association, a date rooted in the traditional custom of "hagotame" — hardening New Year's mochi on the summer solstice. To celebrate the occasion, Calbee brought together its snack brands under a unified festival-themed packaging concept for the first time last year. Following strong sales and favorable reception, the initiative is back for 2026 — this time with an omikuji (fortune slip) element added to make the experience even more fun.
Package Design
The packages feature brand characters enjoying a summer fair (ennichi), creating a lively, festive atmosphere. The reverse side includes omikuji in 18 patterns — 6 items × 3 fortune levels (great luck, medium luck, and small luck) — making them a playful treat to share with family or friends.
Tsubu-kun & Barbe-kun

Sayaendo-kun
The brand character for Saya Endo. A fan of sunshine and gentle breezes, with a personality described as steady and hardworking.
