A renewed version of Calpis Sour, a long-selling canned RTD (Ready to Drink) brand, will be available nationwide starting June 30.

For this renewal, the signature sweet-and-sour taste unique to Calpis has been retained while the bitterness derived from alcohol has been reduced, resulting in a flavor that is described as even more true to the Calpis character. The updated package features a white background adorned with a polka-dot pattern across the entire can, with an illustration of a glass placed at the center — a design that expresses the world of the Calpis brand.

Calpis Sour has been enjoyed by fans since its launch in 1994, making it a brand with over 30 years of history. The drink features a 3% alcohol content and the distinctive refreshing sweet-and-sour flavor born from lactic acid bacteria — the hallmark of Calpis. The renewal targets demand primarily among those in their 20s, with the goal of further energizing the RTD market.
