Japanese tea brand Uji Wazuka-en has launched two new products designed for enjoying Japanese tea in the great outdoors: CAMP de TEA and TRAIL TEA.
A New Way to Enjoy Japanese Tea Outdoors
Drip coffee has long been a staple of outdoor activities like camping and hiking. Japanese tea, on the other hand, has traditionally required a teapot (kyusu), making it less accessible in outdoor settings.
Uji Wazuka-en set out to change that by developing two styles of outdoor-friendly Japanese tea:
- Drip-brewed Japanese tea
- Cold brew Japanese tea made in a personal bottle
Both products are designed to bring the comfort and flavor of Japanese tea into nature.
CAMP de TEA
CAMP de TEA is a drip-style Japanese tea brewed using a dripper — much like drip coffee. The dripping process draws out the natural aroma and umami of the tea leaves, making it possible to enjoy an authentic cup of Japanese tea even at a campsite or on a mountain.
It works especially well with compact outdoor drippers. The mont-bell O.D. Compact Dripper is a particularly recommended pairing.
The set includes three classic Japanese tea varieties:
- Sencha (green tea)
- Gyokuro (shade-grown green tea)
- Hojicha (roasted green tea)
It's ideal for morning camp sessions, post-meal relaxation, or quiet moments around a campfire.

A foldable, washable, and reusable coffee dripper (patented) with a micro-mesh weave of approximately 60 micrometers.
