JR East Japan Urban Development Co., Ltd. runs campass, a camp practice ground business designed to lower the hurdle to trying camping and the outdoors. Its Omiya location, campass Omiya, operates inside the Little Retreat Depot (also known as Ritodepo) outdoor complex, just 7 minutes on foot from the west exit of Omiya Station.
This summer, the facility's entrance event space is being turned into a free playground so people in the area can easily make summer memories: a Pool Plaza during the day and a Fireworks Plaza at night, both for a limited time. A new "all-you-can-drink BBQ plan" is also launching, with a sauna set option available too. Families and friends looking for an outdoor experience during summer vacation are welcome to visit campass Omiya.
Free Summer Playground: Pool Plaza and Fireworks Plaza
The facility's entrance space is opening up so people in the area can enjoy summer memories. No reservation is required, so visitors are welcome to drop by. Details are available on the official Instagram account.
Pool Plaza (daytime) — Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays, 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM
A pool for children will be set up as a space to splash around in during the hot summer days, with shaved ice and cold drinks also available.
- Parents or guardians are asked to supervise their children while using the pool.
- There is no changing space, so please plan accordingly.
Fireworks Plaza (evening) — every day, 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
The Fireworks Plaza lets visitors easily enjoy hand-held fireworks, a classic part of summer, making it possible to create summer memories even for those who find it hard to enjoy fireworks at home. Fireworks, lighters, and buckets of water are all provided, so visitors can come empty-handed.
- For safety reasons, fireworks brought from outside may not be used. Only fireworks purchased at the facility's shop may be used, and fountain-type or aerial fireworks are not available.
- Children of elementary school age or younger may not use the space without a parent or guardian present.
New BBQ Plans
A new "all-you-can-drink BBQ plan with ingredients included" is launching to make barbecuing even easier. With no preparation or shopping required, it lets visitors start barbecuing right away, whether they are new to camping or visiting as a group. campass Omiya's outdoor sauna can also be paired with the plan through a "Sauna BBQ Set Plan," combining a sauna session with food and drinks for a summer-only experience.

Details are available on the reservation page. The plan with ingredients must be booked at least 3 days in advance. The sauna is not available to guests younger than junior high school age, so there is no children's pricing for the sauna set plan.
