Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel's Japanese Afternoon Tea - A Satisfying Meal Experience

Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; General Manager: Shinichi Yoshioka) has renewed its "Sakuragaoka Afternoon Tea" at Japanese Cuisine Sakuragaoka (2F), transforming it into a more meal-focused afternoon tea experience starting January 6, 2026.

View Details

Japanese Cuisine Sakuragaoka has previously offered a Japanese-style afternoon tea featuring obanzai (Kyoto-style small dishes), appetizers, and sweets. In response to customer requests for "a more satisfying meal experience" and the staff's desire to "elevate this into a truly unique Japanese restaurant afternoon tea," the hotel conducted trials starting in October 2025 before officially launching this renewed concept on January 6, 2026, as a meal-style afternoon tea that can satisfy guests as a full lunch or dinner.

The meal begins with a welcome drink—an original mirin-based cocktail, an essential element of Japanese cuisine. This serves as a greeting that welcomes guests into the world of Japanese dining. The menu features obanzai, main dishes, meals, and desserts, all highlighting seasonal ingredients to delight the five senses. The menu changes seasonally to offer different culinary experiences throughout the year. Beverages include a diverse selection of Japanese, Western, and Chinese teas, with hotel staff ready to recommend options based on guests' preferences and mood.

Service times have been expanded from the previous 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM slots to include a new 5:30 PM time slot.

The "Sakuragaoka Afternoon Tea" expresses the essence of Japanese culture and hospitality through the harmonious combination of cuisine, beverages, and service. Experience this evolved menu concept in its new form.
