Xiaolongbao Specialty Restaurant Daijiro no Shoronpo Opens in Atami Ginza Shopping Street on February 13

Daijiro no Shoronpo (6-2 Ginza-cho, Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture) will open in Atami Ginza Shopping Street on Friday, February 13, 2026.

The xiaolongbao specialty restaurant first opened in Higashinakano, Tokyo in 2017 and is now opening a new location in the tourist destination of Atami. The restaurant carefully researches every element—the wrapper, filling, and soup—from ingredient selection through preparation and wrapping. Each xiaolongbao is steamed to order, allowing customers to enjoy the fresh aroma and delicious taste on the spot. The second floor dining space features artwork by contemporary ukiyo-e artist Masumi Ishikawa, creating an environment where food, craft, and Japanese culture come together.

About Daijiro no Shoronpo

Daijiro no Shoronpo was founded by owner Daijiro Shirakawa in Higashinakano in 2017. By researching every aspect of the wrapper, filling, and soup, he has pursued a unique xiaolongbao. The taste has earned high praise not only from restaurant service but also from hotels and Chinese restaurants that purchase them. While planning to open in Las Vegas, circumstances changed, leading to the decision to reopen in Japan. The new location in Atami Ginza Shopping Street serves xiaolongbao steamed to order, allowing customers to enjoy the freshly made aroma and flavor.

The interior features dynamic artwork by contemporary ukiyo-e artist Masumi Ishikawa, with cat figurines by ceramic artist Hakuaki adding character to the space. Additionally, the sign uses precious Yakusugi cedar carved with the logo by an Atami kusuki crafts person, creating a space where food, craft, and Japanese culture harmonize.

About the Wall Mural (Original Work by Masumi Ishikawa)

The second floor dining space features an original work by contemporary ukiyo-e artist Masumi Ishikawa covering the entire wall. The composition features two large cats with xiaolongbao and steamer motifs, creating an impressive space with vibrant colors. The main attraction of the restaurant—xiaolongbao—is expressed through ukiyo-e art, creating a space where customers can enjoy both dining and art.
