Hasselblad and DJI to Open a Joint Concept Store in Omotesando, Tokyo on October 31

A new concept store where visitors can experience the worlds of both Hasselblad, a Swedish premium camera brand with a history of more than 180 years, and DJI, a leader in innovative camera technology, is set to open in the Omotesando area of Tokyo. "DJI | Hasselblad Authorized Concept Store Tokyo Omotesando" is scheduled to hold its grand opening on Saturday, October 31, 2026. The store is being opened by Sekido Co., Ltd., the authorized distributor of both brands in Japan.

The store spans two floors, the ground floor and the second floor. The second floor brings together Hasselblad's flagship medium format digital camera systems so visitors can take their time experiencing advanced imaging technology. On the first floor, the latest DJI drones and handheld cameras are on display. The store also offers one-on-one personal consultations with specialist staff and multilingual support for creators from Japan and overseas.

Why Omotesando: A Permanent Base for Hands-On Experience and Expert Advice

Interest has been growing among creators in Hasselblad's medium format digital cameras and in its proprietary Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution (HNCS), which produces natural, rich color. At the same time, many customers have said they want to check the actual image quality, shutter feel and grip before buying, and to consult professionals about the best lenses and equipment for their own work.

Hasselblad equipment is hard to judge from spec sheets or online information alone. Intuitive handling and the sense of immersion when looking through the viewfinder are important to check in person.

Online sales and short-term events cannot fully cover product experience, specialist consulting and a feel for the brand's world, so a permanent flagship base combining all three is opening in Omotesando, a place known for trends and culture. The store aims to be an open creative community for a wide range of people, from top creators in Japan and abroad to beginners who are about to start serious photography or filmmaking.

Four Highlights of the Store

1. Hasselblad and DJI Under One Roof

The store brings Hasselblad's craftsmanship, which is even part of the history of space exploration, together with the latest technology from DJI, which develops innovative imaging products. The lineup covers a variety of creative work, from still photos to video and from the ground to the sky.

2. Hands-On Access to Hasselblad Medium Format Cameras

In the Hasselblad Area on the second floor, the X2D II 100C, the 907X series and XCD lenses are on display as actual units that visitors can pick up and try shooting with. The first floor also has a permanent drone flight cage for DJI products, so visitors can try the latest equipment from both brands on the spot.

3. One-on-One Support from Dedicated Specialists

Specialist staff with knowledge of the products and experience in the field are always on hand. They suggest the best equipment setup and accessories to match each customer's shooting style and purpose. Beyond product comparisons, they respond one-on-one to a range of questions before and after purchase, from initial setup lessons to advice after getting started.

4. Support for International Visitors

Reflecting Omotesando's international character, the store provides multilingual support so that visitors from overseas, whether traveling or in Japan on business, can try and buy high-end equipment and complete tax-free procedures with confidence.
