Granvaux Spa Village, the glamping accommodation area within Sport & Do Resort Resol no Mori in Nagara-cho, Chiba, is hosting its guests-only Firefly Viewing Night Tour daily from May 23 to July 12, 2026. An early summer stay plan bundling a tour ticket with a BBQ dinner will also be on sale throughout the same period.
A Rare Spot for Two Firefly Species — Nightly Tours Return for 2026
The grounds of Resol no Mori are one of the rare locations in Japan where both Genji fireflies and Heike fireflies — which differ in their flashing patterns — inhabit the same area. Although firefly populations have been declining nationwide due to river water pollution, Resol no Mori has been working on satoyama (rural landscape) conservation in partnership with the Japan Firefly Society since 2019. During the peak season around mid- to late June, around 100 fireflies light up the grounds in a romantic spectacle each year.
On the Firefly Viewing Night Tour, participants set off with a nature guide, custom firefly-watching map in hand, to explore the lush, spring-fed firefly spots across the property. The tour has a near-100% sighting rate (weather permitting), and after the walk ends, each participant (elementary school age and above) receives a complimentary firefly cocktail — also available as a mocktail — at BARもみじ inside Granvaux Spa Village.
In addition to the nightly tours, a special one-time event called "Hotaru with Lantern Night" is planned for June 13, combining firefly viewing with the release of 100 sky lanterns into the early-summer night sky.

Hotaru with Lantern Night
