Built around the theme of a trip to reset and renew, FUJI JAPAN offers experiences — from calligraphy to knife sharpening — where visitors work with their own hands to connect with Japanese culture and traditional techniques. At the new Nara store, that lineup grows with a new experience centered on Japan's blade-making culture: crafting an original knife by hand.

The experience starts with choosing a blade and a handle and combining them as you like. With support from an instructor, visitors work through each step by hand to finish a knife of their own. A personal engraving can also be added on request — a name, a meaningful word, or a memory from the trip — resulting in a knife that exists nowhere else in the world.
