Fujimi Panorama Resort, located in Fujimi Town, Suwa District, Nagano Prefecture, opened its 2026 green season on April 25 (Saturday). Operations are scheduled to continue through November 15 (Sunday).
The resort sits on the southern foothills of the Yatsugatake mountains, about 7 minutes from the Suwa-Minami IC on the Chuo Expressway and approximately 90 minutes from Tokyo. An 8-person gondola carries visitors directly from the base to the summit station on the slopes of Mt. Nyukasa, giving easy access to an area renowned for its wildflowers that bloom in succession from spring through autumn.
Mt. Nyukasa Trekking
Mt. Nyukasa is accessible to a wide range of visitors — from first-time hikers and families to seasoned trekking enthusiasts. Just steps from the gondola summit station lies the Nyukasa Lily of the Valley and Alpine Flower Park, and a short walk further brings you to the Nyukasa Wetland, one of Japan's leading wildflower destinations where lily of the valley and other alpine plants bloom in turn from spring to autumn. The wetland scenery changes with each season, offering something new with every visit.
From the summit station, a trail leads up to the mountaintop, where a full 360-degree panoramic view opens up — taking in the Yatsugatake range, Mt. Fuji, and the Southern, Central, and Northern Japanese Alps.
The gondola also accommodates dogs, so visitors can enjoy highland walks together with their pets.

Mountain Activities
Mountain Bike Park
One of Japan's largest MTB parks, where the gondola carries riders straight to the top for a long downhill run. Courses range from beginner to advanced, and the park also features the "Shimano Bikers Festival Presents Skill-Up Area" for beginners, children, and riders looking to sharpen their technique. Rental bikes, equipment, and lessons are available on-site, making it welcoming for first-timers as well.
Paragliding / Trail Running
The on-site JMB Fujimi Panorama Paragliding School offers tandem flights and half-day experiences launching from the summit, boasting one of the greatest altitude differences in the Kanto region. A trail running test center also opens during the season.

Seasonal Highlights
Golden Week: Katakuri in Bloom
From late April through early May, katakuri (dogtooth violets) spread their reddish-purple flowers across the forest floor, gently coloring the spring woodland. The Golden Week period, right after the resort opens, is expected to be peak bloom time.
1.2 Million Lily of the Valley Festival (May 23 – June 21)
The Nyukasa Lily of the Valley and Alpine Flower Park features 200,000 German lily of the valley, while the Nyukasa Wetland holds 1 million Japanese lily of the valley — totaling 1.2 million blooms at peak. During the festival period, gondola round-trip ticket holders receive a seedling of an alpine plant as a gift.
Cool Breezes of Nyukasa Hanagoyomi 2026 (July 1 – August 16)
Around 150 species of alpine plants bloom in succession across Mt. Nyukasa, where the average summer temperature is about 22°C. Visitors can enjoy highland walks surrounded by wildflowers in the cool summer air.
30,000 Gentians Festival (August 22 – September 23)
As summer draws to a close, the Nyukasa Wetland turns blue-violet with approximately 30,000 gentians — a flower scene that heralds the arrival of autumn.
