Norikura Star & Moon Restaurant Returns to Matsumoto's Highlands for the 2026 Season

In the Norikura Highlands of Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, an outdoor dining program is back for another season. Norikura Star & Moon Restaurant, a reservation-only glamping dinner served inside a large transparent dome, has opened bookings for 2026, with the general dining season running from September 1 to October 31.

The program is held at the Ichinose Enchi area of the Norikura Highlands, inside a frameless transparent structure called the Norikura Nature Dome. Guests take in a wide view of the surrounding nature while eating a meal built around local ingredients, including wild mountain vegetables and Shinshu Premium Wagyu beef, served with hospitality from concierges based in the area.

The program is organized by Shinshu Mirai Zukuri Company, Inc. (Head Office: Azumi, Matsumoto City; CEO: Tsuyoshi Matsushima), a company that plans and operates experience-based tourism content in Nagano Prefecture, in partnership with the Matsumoto City Alps Sangakukyo Association (Office: Azumi, Matsumoto City; Representative Director: Motoki Saito).

An Evening Inside the AURA DOME

The dinner is served inside a frameless, transparent structure called the AURA DOME, which gives guests a 360-degree view of the surrounding landscape from an enclosed, sheltered space. Because the program is fully reservation-only, each seating keeps a private, secluded atmosphere.

The menu draws on ingredients from the Shinshu region, including wild mountain vegetables, seasonal produce, and Shinshu Premium Wagyu beef, paired with drinks and served by concierges from the local community.

All electricity used for lighting and cooking at the venue is supplied by electric vehicles, creating a comfortable, luxurious setting in the midst of nature. The dinner is also offered as a gift for anniversaries, birthdays, and other occasions.
