Marumaru no Hanashi Sightseeing Train Reveals Onboard Merchandise for Hagi x Gintama Collaboration

JR West's Hiroshima Branch is bringing sightseeing train "Marumaru no Hanashi" together with Hagi City and the TV anime Gintama for the "Gintama Goyomi (銀魂暦)" collaboration starting in October, and the details of the original collaboration merchandise to be sold on board have now been decided.

In addition, a limited collaboration pamphlet will now also be distributed on board as part of the "Marumaru no Hanashi" x Gintama Goyomi collaboration.

1. Advance Onboard Sale of Original Collaboration Merchandise

Original merchandise exclusive to this collaboration will go on advance sale inside "Marumaru no Hanashi."

Sale Period

  • Outbound sales section: after departing Shimonoseki Station until before arrival at Hagi Station
  • Inbound sales section: after departing Hagi Station until before arrival at Kawatana Onsen Station
  • On October 3 (Sat.), 4 (Sun.), 10 (Sat.), 11 (Sun.), and 12 (Mon., holiday) only, the sales section is expanded: outbound, after departing Shimonoseki Station through Higashi-Hagi Station; inbound, from Higashi-Hagi Station through after departing Kawatana Onsen Station.

Notes on Purchasing

  • All onboard sales are cashless only; cash cannot be used.
  • To let more passengers enjoy the merchandise, purchases are limited to 5 of each item per person.
  • Onboard sales are limited by how much stock each train can carry, so please excuse any sold-out items.
  • Due to signal conditions, payment terminals may be unavailable in some sections (particularly between Nagato-shi and Hagi stations), in which case sales may be suspended.

2. Limited Onboard Distribution of an Original Pamphlet

Passengers riding "Marumaru no Hanashi" will receive a limited collaboration pamphlet for "Marumaru no Hanashi" and Gintama Goyomi. The pamphlet introduces "The Story of Gintama," "The Story of Marumaru no Hanashi," and "The Story of Hagi."

Distribution Section: outbound, between Nagato-shi and Hagi stations; inbound, between Hagi and Nagato-shi stations.

Passengers riding outside this section who would like a copy are welcome to ask an attendant.

About the TV Anime Gintama

Gintama is a hit manga by Hideaki Sorachi, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha, Jump Comics), with a worldwide cumulative print run — including digital editions — of 73 million copies.

Packed with uproarious comedy, intense action, and heartfelt bonds between its characters, this entertaining series has been adapted into TV and theatrical anime as well as a live-action film.

A "Gintama Multiverse" anime, Class 3-Z's Mr. Ginpachi, based on the spin-off novel Gintama: Class 3-Z's Mr. Ginpachi (author: Tomohito Osaki, original story: Hideaki Sorachi), began airing on the TV Tokyo network from October 2025. Gintama: The Movie - Yoshiwara in Flames also opened in theaters from February 2026.

Even some 20 years after its serialization began, Gintama continues to grow into content loved by many fans across a wide range of media.
