Matsuya Ginza Hosts 14-Day Japan Denim Event Alongside TOKYO CREATIVE SALON 2026

Matsuya Ginza is hosting "Matsuya's Regional Co-Creation: Japanese Spring × TOKYO CREATIVE SALON 2026," a 14-day event running from March 11 (Wednesday) to 24 (Tuesday). Tying in with TOKYO CREATIVE SALON 2026 (TCS2026), one of Japan's largest annual fashion and design festivals, the event spotlights "Made in Japan denim" through show window displays, pop-up shops, and exclusive giveaways — bringing the stories behind Japanese regional craftsmanship to visitors from both Japan and abroad.

Show Windows Featuring Hiroshima and Gunma Craftsmanship

A dynamic show window installation will combine "denim" from Fukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture — celebrated for its exceptional discharge dyeing techniques — with "embroidery" from Kiryu, Gunma Prefecture, known for its delicate and three-dimensional designs. The collaboration is a visual tribute to the diversity of Japanese regional craftsmanship.

  • 1st floor main entrance show windows: March 9 (Monday) to 24 (Tuesday)
  • Basement-level show windows: March 10 (Tuesday) to 24 (Tuesday)

Upcycled Denim Souvenir Tote Bag Gift

During the event period, the first 400 customers who spend ¥33,000 or more (purchases may be combined) using a Matsuya card at Matsuya Ginza or the Marronnier-dori Building will receive an original "Souvenir Tote Bag" (one per person, not for sale) crafted from upcycled denim. The design features the logo from Matsuya's founding kimono store days.

Upcycled Denim Souvenir Tote Bag

Upcycled denim is made by collecting discarded warp threads from denim manufacturers in Fukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture — Japan's top denim-producing region — reverting them to a cotton state, re-spinning them into yarn, and reweaving them into new denim.

  • Eligible stores: Matsuya Ginza main building, Matsuya Ginza Marronnier-dori Building
  • Gift redemption: "Matsuya Club Promotion Space" next to Parking Lot No. 1
  • Period: March 11 (Wednesday) to 22 (Sunday), 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Staff Wearing Denim Ribbon Brooches

Throughout the event, Matsuya Ginza staff will welcome visitors wearing denim ribbon brooches made from the same upcycled denim as the souvenir tote bags.
