A Diverse Lineup of "Theater Bento" — Refined in Ginza's Theater District

The "theater bento" was born from requests to "enjoy something delicious during intermission." These bento boxes are crafted specifically to be eaten on one's lap during a performance break, reflecting Ginza's reputation as a theater hub. Of course, they're just as enjoyable outside the theater.

Ginza Mitsukoshi's Theater Bento Principles

  • Easy to spread open on one's lap
  • Subtle in aroma out of consideration for fellow audience members
  • Easy to portion and pick up
  • Visually refined, in keeping with the theater atmosphere
  • A special touch that adds to the extraordinary experience of seeing a show

Savoring Japan's Terroir

To mark the 96th anniversary of Ginza Mitsukoshi, two single malt Japanese whiskies are introduced, featuring the Important Cultural Property "Fujin Raijin-zu Byobu (Wind God and Thunder God)" (by Ogata Korin, from the Tokyo National Museum collection) on their labels.

The "Fujin" (Wind God) bottle features a whisky from <Asaka Distillery> in Fukushima Prefecture — known as the "distillery of wind" — which obtained its whisky production license in 1946, matured in white wine barrels. The "Raijin" (Thunder God) bottle features a specially bottled expression from <Nagahama Distillery> in Shiga Prefecture — creator of the INAZUMA series and many other whiskies — matured in red wine barrels.
