Wako Ginza Presents "Ceramics Internationality Exhibition" at Seiko House Hall

Wako in Ginza announces an exhibition featuring four internationally active ceramic artists based in Japan, scheduled from February 19 (Thursday) to March 1 (Sunday), 2026, at Seiko House Hall.

The exhibition showcases the works of four distinguished artists: Peter Hamann, a porcelain artist and tea master from Tanba-Sasayama City; Agnes Husz, who captivates viewers with her unique techniques; Choi Je-Hoon, known for design-rich and meticulously beautiful works; and Ha Myung-Gu, who creates distinctive characters existing between human and living beings. Visitors can experience diverse ceramic sensibilities through flower vases, tea ceramics, and unique sculptures.

A gallery talk featuring exhibition curator Kazuko Todate and all four participating artists is scheduled for February 21 (Saturday) at 2:00 PM, with Ms. Todate serving as moderator.

Born: 1956, Nebraska, USA (raised in Iowa)

1978 - Graduated from Graceland University, Department of Art (USA)

1985 - Graduated from Tekisui Museum Attached Ceramic Research Institute Advanced Course; established independent kiln in Tanba-Sasayama City, Hyogo Prefecture

1996 - "Rin" Contemporary Ceramic Art (Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park, Shiga Prefecture)

2022 - Mitsui Golden Takumi Award Finalist

2025 - Selected for the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition (25th time); participated in Hyogo Ceramic Art Museum Special Exhibition "TANBA NOW+" (2nd time)

Current positions: Regular member of the Japan Crafts Association, Director of the Kyoto Craft Artists Association, among others

2023 - Received TOKI Oribe Grand Prize at the 15th Contemporary Tea Ceramic Exhibition (Toki City, Gifu Prefecture)

2024 - Received Jury Recommendation Award at Taiwan Ceramics Biennale (Taipei, Taiwan)

2025 - Finalist for LOEWE Foundation Craft Prize 2025

Current position: Member of the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC)

1993 - Completed Master's Program in Design, Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music Graduate School; studied under Masahiro Mori; joined INAX Corporation (currently LIXIL), engaged in product design and advanced design (until 2021)

2002 - Received Grand Prix in Ceramic Design Category at the 6th International Ceramics Competition Mino

2003 - Received Bronze Prize in Living Ceramics Category at the 2nd Gyeonggi World Ceramic Biennale (South Korea)
