Hakodate Onuma Prince Hotel, located in Nanae-cho, Kameda-gun, Hokkaido, is hosting a "Night Cherry Blossom Tour by Golf Cart" for a limited period from May 1 (Friday) to May 6 (Wednesday), 2026. This is the third year the event has been held.
The tour was created out of a desire to share the cherry blossoms growing at the adjacent Hokkaido Country Club golf course—a sight normally reserved for golfers—with a wider audience. In the Donan (southern Hokkaido) region, cherry blossoms bloom later than in Honshu, with the peak season falling from late April through early May.
Staff guide guests to the golf course by golf cart, offering a cool evening drive through the nighttime course. Upon arriving, visitors can enjoy a special stretch of time surrounded by night cherry blossoms and a canopy of stars on the wide-open, empty fairway—a setting that lets the stresses of daily life fade away. The blossoms, which have endured a long winter, add an extra layer of magic to the extraordinary atmosphere.
During the tour, guests are also escorted right up to the cherry trees for photos.

Mirror-like cherry blossoms on a calm night
On still evenings, the night cherry blossoms and their reflection in the golf course pond merge into one dreamlike panorama. Combined with the starry sky above, this "double cherry blossom" view makes for an unforgettable moment.
Golf cart ride
Guests ride the same golf carts used on the actual course. Even for avid golfers, the course is off-limits after hours, making a nighttime ride through the silent fairways a genuinely unique experience.
Stargazing
With no street lamps on the course, the sky is far darker than in town. On clear nights, stars that are difficult to see from urban areas become clearly visible, offering a brilliant display of the night sky.
