HandMade In Japan Fes' 2026 (HMJ), one of Japan's largest creator festivals, is set to take place at Tokyo Big Sight on Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12, 2026. Advance tickets are now on sale at major ticket agencies.
HandMade In Japan Fes' is a large-scale event where creators from across Japan gather to exhibit and sell their original works. It launched at Tokyo Big Sight in 2013 and has been held twice a year — in summer and winter — since 2019. This upcoming edition marks the 19th installment.
Note: Due to renovation work at Tokyo Big Sight, the winter 2027 edition will be moved to spring and held on Saturday, March 20 and Sunday, March 21, 2027, at the same venue.
The most recent summer edition recorded the highest attendance since the COVID-19 pandemic, and the winter edition that followed set an all-time attendance record. The event continues to grow as one of Japan's premier craft gatherings, expanding awareness of handmade works and the appeal of shopping guided by personal taste.
The venue will be lined with booths from 3,000 creators selected through a public call-for-entries*, showcasing a wide variety of original works including accessories, bags, fashion items, interior goods, kitchenware, art, ceramics, and traditional crafts. In addition to the marketplace, the event offers approximately 70 types of hands-on workshops led by traditional craftspeople and popular creators, live music by featured artists, comedy stage shows, live painting demonstrations, and a selection of homemade food stalls.

"Creema HASHTAG GALLERY" Returns with Theme: "The World of 5cm × 5cm"
The venue's atrium entrance will once again host the "Creema HASHTAG GALLERY," a curated exhibition built around the concept of "narrow but deep" — inspired by the hashtag's function of zeroing in on a highly specific theme. Following previous themes centered on spices and bag charms, this year's theme is "The World of 5cm × 5cm." Palm-sized miniature works by creators will be on display, alongside a miniature-themed workshop and a giant gachapon machine tied to the theme.
Full details to be announced progressively.
