HOSHINOYA Kyoto Launches Exclusive "Oku-Arashiyama Cherry Blossom Viewing" Stay Program - One Group Per Day Only

HOSHINOYA Kyoto, a luxury ryokan located in Arashiyama, Kyoto, will offer the "Oku-Arashiyama Cherry Blossom Viewing" stay program from March 25 to April 9, 2026. Limited to one group per day, this exclusive program allows guests to monopolize three prime cherry blossom viewing spots in the tranquil Oku-Arashiyama area. The experience includes a special dinner under illuminated weeping cherry blossoms on the Hanazakura Terrace, morning cherry tea in a private aerial tea room overlooking mountain cherry trees, and breakfast on a chartered houseboat while viewing cherry blossoms along the Arashiyama Gorge.

Background

Arashiyama has been selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Viewing Spots (selected by the Japan Cherry Blossom Association) and attracts many tourists during cherry blossom season each year. HOSHINOYA Kyoto, located in a gorge approximately 1 km from Arashiyama's famous Togetsukyo Bridge, offers a quiet environment away from the crowds where guests can leisurely enjoy cherry blossoms. During this stay program, guests can privately reserve three exclusive viewing spots - the aerial tea room, the houseboat, and the Hanazakura Terrace - to enjoy an elegant cherry blossom viewing experience available only through this program.

Feature 1: Special Dinner Under Illuminated Weeping Cherry Blossoms on Hanazakura Terrace

Special dinner

The stay begins with welcome sweets on the Hanazakura Terrace, covered by weeping cherry blossoms and reserved exclusively for program participants. In the evening, guests enjoy a special dinner in a magical atmosphere while viewing the illuminated weeping cherry blossoms. The dinner features spring delicacies including cherry sea bream sashimi, white miso soup with clams, and bamboo shoot rice. The evening is luxuriously enhanced by a special dinner with seasonal cuisine while monopolizing the night cherry blossoms spreading before your eyes.

Feature 2: Start the Day with Cherry Tea in a Private Aerial Tea Room Overlooking Mountain Cherry Blossoms at Dawn

In the morning, guests privately reserve the "Aerial Tea Room" that juts out over the river, enjoying warm cherry tea while viewing mountain cherry blossoms illuminated by the morning sun. It's a luxurious time to monopolize the cherry blossoms of Oku-Arashiyama while listening to the quiet murmur of the river and feeling the refreshing breeze from the water. Guests can spend a special start to their day, warming both body and mind and relaxing with the fragrance of cherry blossoms.

Feature 3: Special Breakfast on a Private Houseboat Viewing Cherry Blossoms Along Arashiyama Gorge

Private houseboat

Special breakfast

Breakfast is enjoyed on the HOSHINOYA Kyoto exclusive houseboat "Hisui," reserved privately while viewing cherry blossoms along the Arashiyama Gorge. The menu includes grilled cherry sea bream, grilled cherry trout with wine, and clams with Tanba wine and white sake miso. Just as Heian aristocrats once enjoyed nature and boating on rivers, guests can savor a luxurious moment enjoying a gorgeous special breakfast while viewing cherry blossoms from the water.

HOSHINOYA Kyoto Exclusive Houseboat "Hisui"

Houseboat

Hisui is HOSHINOYA Kyoto's exclusive houseboat where guests can enjoy cherry blossoms along the Arashiyama Gorge. The space is finished with building materials and decorations long familiar in Kyoto, creating an elegant atmosphere. For example, the boat frame uses Kitayama cedar and cypress materials used in shoin-style architecture, and the wood-end coverings feature copper decorative metal fittings that have long been seen in temple pillars and ceiling decorations. Inside are bamboo backrests inspired by traditional Kyoto townhouse doggy fences and cushions dyed with soft colors from plants and flowers. Guests can also enjoy a private space by lowering the reed blinds on the sides.
