Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo Opens First-Ever Sweets Pop-Up at Ginza Mitsukoshi

Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo is set to open its first-ever sweets pop-up store at Ginza Mitsukoshi, running for one week from May 27 (Wednesday) to June 2 (Tuesday), 2026. This marks the hotel's debut at the iconic Ginza department store, where it will offer a selection of its popular sweets and bakery items alongside several pop-up exclusive products crafted by the hotel's pastry chefs.

Spotlight Sweets and a Returning Fan Favorite

Three items take center stage at this pop-up. The Premium Shortcake layers three types of fresh cream over a sponge made with wasanbon sugar. The Cube Choux Fruits Rouges features a cube-shaped choux pastry filled with vanilla cream and red berries. The Ultimate Tiramisu is the creation of Yasuhisa Kawakami, the pastry chef at "Il Teatro," who was selected as a finalist at the "Gran Concorso di Tiramisu' 2022" — the Japanese qualifying round for the international tiramisu competition "The World Trophy of Professional Tiramisu' FIPGC 2023." The dessert balances the crunch of chocolate crumble with the rich aroma of Amaretto di Saronno for a result that is both indulgent and surprisingly light.

Also making a comeback is the Walnut Bread, a long-loved item featuring generous chunks of walnuts with a characteristic nuttiness and subtle saltiness. The bread had been discontinued, but persistent requests from fans prompted its return. Rounding out the lineup is the Tokyo Unkai Pudding, inspired by the hotel's signature garden spectacle, "Tokyo Unkai" (Sea of Clouds).

Ginza Mitsukoshi-Exclusive Scones

Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo's lounge "Le Jardin" is said to have introduced one of Tokyo's first full-scale afternoon teas back in the 1990s. For this pop-up, the hotel has developed three new scone flavors exclusively for Ginza Mitsukoshi, each crafted through repeated testing to achieve a perfectly crisp exterior with a soft, moist interior.

  • Caramel Orange — the warmth of caramel balanced with the slight bitterness of orange peel
  • Tea Berry — a bright combination of berry-flavored tea and white chocolate
  • Rye — made with domestic wheat and rye flour
