During the 2026 Golden Week period (April 25 through May 6), the 1F Sweets & Bakery "Sui" at Royal Park Hotel in Tokyo's Nihonbashi will be offering a special collection of Children's Day-themed sweets and bread under the name "Golden Week Animal Sweets & Bread."
Charming Sweets and Bread to Delight Kids This Golden Week

The lineup brings back a popular treat from last year alongside a host of new creations. The returning star is the Mont Blanc Kabuto — a whole-size cake shaped like a traditional helmet (kabuto). Inside the layers of chestnut cream, marscapone-blended whipping cream, cut chestnuts, and cassis jam sits a crunchy chocolate-coated meringue, delivering a full-bodied chestnut flavor.
New to the collection are several loveable Animal Sweets, each featuring pastel spring colors and charming expressions:
- Cheeky Rabbit (Otenba Usagi): A white chocolate mousse filled with strawberry sauce, set on a base of crushed cookies that evokes a grassy meadow — the rabbit is depicted from behind, mid-frolic.
- Fluffy Alpaca (Fuwa Fuwa Alpaca): Layers of fromage blanc and cream cheese mousse, strawberry jelly, and pistachio mousse, with the alpaca's wooly coat recreated using sponge cake.
- Prickly Hedgehog (Chiku Chiku Harinezumi): Delicate chocolate cream piping mimics the hedgehog's spines. Underneath is a caramel cheese mousse with caramelized apple and caramel biscuit — a richly indulgent combination.
The Animal Bread lineup adds a playful savory and sweet bread assortment:
- Turtle Melon Bread (Kame no Meronpan): A crispy matcha cookie crust filled with generous custard cream — a returning favorite from last year.
- Rabbit Chocolate Cream Bread (Usagi no Choco Cream Pan): A baked roll filled with chocolate chip custard, with cookie dough shaped into bunny ears.
- Piglet Bun (Buta no Buta Pan): A steamed bun-style bread filled with pork, potato salad, and scrambled egg.
Each item features a unique expression, so part of the fun is choosing your favorite. The full lineup makes for a delightful family treat during the holidays.
