Hotel Granvia Osaka Launches Retro-Themed Afternoon Tea at Two Venues for Summer 2026

Hotel Granvia Osaka (3-1-1 Umeda, Kita-ku, Osaka; General Manager: Nobuji Abe) is introducing an afternoon tea set featuring five classic, time-honored sweets at two venues. Available from Wednesday, July 1 to Wednesday, September 30, 2026, the set will be served at the 1st floor "Tea Lounge" and the 19th floor lounge "River Head."

Tea Lounge (1F): Afternoon Tea Set — Retro

The "Afternoon Tea Set — Retro" at the 1st floor Tea Lounge features five petit sweets, including a pudding accented with houjicha caramel and a seasonal fruit tart on a tart shell made with fragrant French butter. The set also includes Tiramisu with vanilla ice cream — a dessert where the rich aroma of coffee and the cool, smooth vanilla ice cream come together — as well as French-inspired savories.

Guests can pair their selection with a summery welcome drink and a choice of two beverages from options including Ronnefeldt teas.

Five Petit Sweets

  • Chocolate Roll Cake — Moist sponge wrapped around smooth cream, finished with rich chocolate cream. Savor the lingering aroma of chocolate.
  • Cream Puff (Chou à la Crème) — A well-baked cookie-style choux filled with a two-layer cream of rich custard and fresh cream from Konsen, Hokkaido. The balance between shell and cream is exceptional.
  • Cheesecake — Two layers of baked and rare cheesecake on a cookie base, wrapped in a refreshing lime-scented cream for a light, delicate finish.
  • Pudding — A rich, quality pudding layered with fresh cream. The hidden accent: houjicha in the caramel.
  • Seasonal Fruit Tart — A carefully made tart shell using fragrant, high-quality French butter, topped with mango. In August and September, Shine Muscat is used instead.

The 19th floor lounge "River Head" offers a full course-style afternoon tea experience crafted by a French chef and patissier. The "Petit French Course" pairs starters, pasta, and a main with a selection of sweets, and also includes options for sparkling wine and pairing drinks.
