Hotel Kintetsu Universal City (Shimaya, Konohana Ward, Osaka), an official hotel of Universal Studios Japan, will celebrate its 25th anniversary on July 18, 2026. To mark the occasion, a year-long interior decoration campaign titled "Colorful Pop Journey: 25 Years of Smiles" launched on April 7, 2026.
The hotel's 25-year history is reimagined as "a single journey," with the decorated spaces expressing gratitude to all guests who have visited over the years, as well as anticipation for the future ahead.
The entire hotel has been transformed into the stage of a "colorful journey," with the popular Sesame Street characters — beloved fixtures of Universal Studios Japan — serving as motifs in a pop, uplifting world full of color and energy.
Anniversary Decoration Concept: "Colorful Pop Journey"
A Celebration of 25 Years, Illuminating the Road Ahead
Taking "Journey" as its keyword, the hotel's 25-year history is portrayed as a "colorful pop journey," with each guest's memories depicted as "travel stories" and expressed as rails leading into the future.
Travel motifs such as trains, trunks, and hot air balloons symbolize the connection between past, present, and future. The aim is to create a space where visitors can overlay their own memories with the stories yet to come.
The color palette features seven colors tied to the 25th anniversary commemorative logo — each carrying meanings such as "smiles," "hope," "adventure," and "gratitude" — expressing both a festive spirit and a forward-looking vision.
The commemorative logo's gold appears throughout the space as a "mark of the journey," blending classic elements with pop colors. Rather than simply looking back, the design positions this anniversary as the departure point for the next 25 years.

Entrance
The entrance is styled after a classic station gateway, symbolically representing "a departure point from the past into the future."
A colorful gradient centered on the commemorative logo's gold creates a lively, festive atmosphere. Sesame Street characters greet guests at the door, welcoming them into the hotel's 25th anniversary story.
Photo Spot
The photo spot brings a pop world with an American comic-book aesthetic that complements the hotel's interior style. Its standout feature is a three-dimensional design that makes it look as if a train is bursting right out of the wall.
Sesame Street characters dressed in bow ties appear in festive attire at this interactive experience, where guests can feel like "fellow travelers" as they pose for photos.
Lobby
A large "25" numeral sculpture greets guests prominently in the lobby. Trunk decorations express the beginning of a journey, while Sesame Street characters aboard hot air balloons evoke "an aerial journey into the future."
The entire hotel becomes the stage for the "Colorful Pop Journey" story, delivering a memorable anniversary experience to every visitor.
