TOUR D'ARGENT TOKYO Comes to Osaka for Hotel New Otani Osaka's 40th Anniversary

Hotel New Otani Osaka will host the "TOUR D'ARGENT TOKYO SPECIAL 2 DAYS ~Héritage et Évolution~" at its French restaurant SAKURA on Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14, 2026. The two-day event is part of the hotel's celebrations leading up to its 40th anniversary in September 2026.

"Paris's Treasure" Comes to Osaka

Having stood alongside Osaka Castle since opening in 1986, Hotel New Otani Osaka is marking its 40th anniversary with a dining event of considerable note. Executive Chef Renaud Augier of TOUR D'ARGENT TOKYO — based in Kioicho, Tokyo — along with a team of service staff, will travel to Osaka for the occasion. The event offers a rare chance to experience the restaurant's cuisine outside of Paris and Tokyo.

An M.O.F. Chef on Tradition and Evolution

Tour d'Argent was founded in Paris in 1582 and has been part of French culinary history ever since. TOUR D'ARGENT TOKYO is the restaurant's only branch outside Paris. Chef Renaud Augier holds the "M.O.F. (Meilleur Ouvrier de France)," France's highest national honor in the culinary field, awarded to those who best represent the nation's craftsmanship traditions.

The fair's theme, "Héritage et Évolution," translates roughly to "inheriting history and creating the future." The special course available over these two days reflects a culinary approach that honors 400 years of history while continuing to evolve.

Wine Pairings at the Scenic SAKURA

Tour d'Argent's Paris location is known for its vast wine cellar beneath the Seine — approximately 1,200 square meters storing around 350,000 bottles. This dedication to wine carries through to TOUR D'ARGENT TOKYO, where around 1,000 varieties are kept in a cellar maintained at the right temperature, humidity, and light conditions. Some of the more difficult-to-source bottles are imported directly from the Paris cellar, and sommeliers work to match each wine with the food at its peak maturation.

For this event, sommeliers will curate separate wine selections for lunch and dinner service, offering pairings designed to complement each course.
