Hotel Nikko Alivila (Yomitan Village, Okinawa Prefecture / General Manager: Koichi Nakajima) will serve its hotel original "Grilled Daikon Mochi" handcrafted by the hotel's dim sum chef at the Hana Hana casual buffet lunch from February 17 (Tuesday) to February 23 (Monday, Holiday), 2026, in celebration of Spring Festival, one of China's three major festivals.
The Hana Hana casual buffet offers Japanese, Western, and Okinawan cuisine, along with Chinese dishes. The dim sum prepared by the hotel's dim sum chef is particularly popular. This year, to provide guests with a more diverse selection of Chinese menu items, the restaurant has been featuring dishes themed around Chinese festivals. As the second installment, "Grilled Daikon Mochi" will be offered for a limited time in honor of the Lunar New Year "Spring Festival."
"Grilled Daikon Mochi" is an auspicious food essential during Spring Festival, especially beloved in China's Guangdong region, and has been eaten to wish for a good start to the new year. The hotel prepares daikon mochi that highlights the gentle sweetness of grated radish and the chewy texture of rice flour, with a fragrant grilled surface. Additionally, deep-fried mochi shaped like lotus flowers will be served simultaneously, adding a festive Spring Festival atmosphere.
Going forward, the Hana Hana casual buffet will continue to offer a wide variety of Chinese menu items along with seasonal flavors aligned with festivals and special occasions.
