Ichigo held "Ichigo Kakyoin Building – Meet The Neighbors!" on August 4, 2026, at its office building Ichigo Kakyoin Building in Sendai, as a mixer bringing together tenants and people from the surrounding neighborhood. The event is part of an effort to build a shared community between the building's tenants and the local area.
It was the first time the event was held at Ichigo Kakyoin Building, and also the first time "Meet The Neighbors!" took place outside a major metropolitan area. The event was held in the second-floor shared lounge, renovated in 2024, with food, sweets, and drinks provided by OneFive Dining, the restaurant at The OneFive Sendai, a hotel owned and operated by the Ichigo group.
ElevationSpace, Inc., one of the building's tenants, gave a talk on the theme "Sustainability from Space." With the Sendai Tanabata Festival approaching, guests also wrote wishes on tanzaku strips and presented them at the event, adding a seasonal Tanabata touch alongside bamboo decorations. Bamboo has long been considered a good-luck symbol for carrying wishes to the heavens because it grows straight upward — and the hope is that the new connections between neighbors taking root in this city will grow just as straight and strong.
Purpose of "Meet The Neighbors!"
As a company focused on sustainable infrastructure, Ichigo aims to raise the value of the properties it owns and operates beyond real estate alone, treating them as infrastructure. Mutual support among neighbors is essential in the event of a disaster, and building community with neighbors is considered one of the important tenant services.
The event also served as a disaster-preparedness activity, including an AED training session.
Ichigo plans to continue holding "Meet The Neighbors!" events at the buildings it owns and operates, as an activity with broad social significance.

Comment from Akihiko Tsukasa, Managing Director, Ichigo Jisho
We held Meet The Neighbors! this time at Ichigo Kakyoin Building in Sendai. The goal was to build a community where people can call out to one another even in the event of a disaster. Everyone looked a little tense when they first gathered for the AED training session, but as the instructor guided them through rescue practice and they called out to each other, their voices grew louder and smiles spread across the room — seeing that made me really glad we held the event.
At the mixer that began in the evening, guests enjoyed delicious food brought in from a hotel while chatting in a relaxed atmosphere. I hope this becomes a chance for tenants to start greeting and talking with each other in the elevator hall and other shared spaces.
