Ichihatasan Yakushiji (一畑山薬師寺) will begin distributing its November-only gold foil goshuin (temple stamp) on Sunday, November 1, 2026. The goshuin is a limited edition that changes every month, and its design was renewed in 2026. A gold foil finish in the center gives it a three-dimensional, decorative look.
Each month, the temple offers two kinds of goshuin. One is the Grand Festival goshuin, themed on the seasonal festivals held at Ichihatasan Yakushiji. The other is the Twelve Divine Generals goshuin, featuring the Twelve Divine Generals (十二神将) who protect those who pray to Yakushi Nyorai (薬師如来).
Grand Festival Goshuin: Monju Bosatsu (文殊菩薩)

This goshuin is themed on the "Wisdom-Granting Memorial Service" (智慧授け供養祭), held to receive the power of right judgment. Monju Bosatsu is said to bring benefits for improved academic performance and passing exams. A "Wisdom Ring Passage" (智慧の輪くぐり) can be found at the worship area of the Okazaki Hondo.
The design includes scrolls and other motifs related to learning, inspired by the Shichi-Go-San season and by Monju Bosatsu, who presides over wisdom.
Twelve Divine Generals Goshuin: Bikara Taisho (毘伽羅大将)

Bikara Taisho has Shaka Nyorai (釈迦如来) as his original Buddha and is said to bring the benefit of guiding people toward enlightenment. An arrow shot with force from a treasure bow serves as a marker that leads people onto the right path. The design also shows a rat (子), the zodiac sign of Bikara Taisho, who watches over the month of November.
Where to Get It
The November goshuin is available at the Okazaki Hondo and the Nagoya Betsuin. Since 2026, the limited goshuin can also be purchased at the temple's Net Betsuin (ネット別院), so that people who have difficulty walking or live far away can collect them too.
