IKEA Japan (Headquarters: Funabashi City, Chiba Prefecture; President & Chief Sustainability Officer: Petra Färe), the Japanese branch of the Swedish home furnishing company with the vision "to create a better everyday life for the many people," will roll out the KONSTRUNDA collection starting September 3, 2026, at IKEA stores nationwide, the IKEA online store, and the IKEA app. The collection is built around the idea of enjoying art at an affordable price.
The name KONSTRUNDA means "art tour" in Swedish, drawing on the tradition of visiting artists' studios and exhibitions to discover new works and meet the people who make them. The seven creators behind the collection each bring their own background, values, and mode of expression, translating free-flowing ideas and distinct perspectives into decorations, rugs, vases, stools, and more. The result is a range of items carrying playful, creative ideas that make art easier to bring into everyday life.
Rather than defining what art should be, IKEA aims to widen the space where art is made and enjoyed as part of everyday life at home. By combining IKEA's manufacturing expertise and global network with the free-flowing ideas of the participating creators, the collection delivers art that reflects each designer's individuality and viewpoint to a wide audience.
The collection is built around the keywords "freedom," "happiness," and "fearlessness." Encountering different forms of expression, materials, and colors brings the same sense of discovery as touring an art scene, offering fresh inspiration for daily life. Finding one's own interpretation and a new perspective along the way is, in itself, part of art's appeal.
Meet the Designers
Akanksha Deo — A designer and visual artist from India who combines the history and techniques of Indian textiles to create designs that are clean yet playful. Some pieces were developed in close collaboration with Indian artisans, bringing together traditional and contemporary craftsmanship.
Andu Masebo — A product designer from London with wide-ranging experience across woodworking, metalwork, and ceramics, working from the perspectives of both designer and maker. Valuing simplicity and efficiency, Masebo creates story-driven designs that convey the process of making and the appeal of raw materials.
Emanuele Stamuli — A creator specializing in interior design for the fashion and retail sectors, pursuing designs that pair close attention to detail with a passion for sustainability. Stamuli blends a love of color, texture, and form with a conceptual approach to create memorable designs.
Ingrid Leander Berg & Igor Holtermann — Creators who build distinctive, eye-catching spaces through murals. Exploring the boundary between interior design and art, the duo develops work built on pattern and bold graphics across a range of fields and platforms.
Lisa Hilland — One of Sweden's leading contemporary designers, pairing the latest production techniques with high-quality craftsmanship to create designs full of character. Drawing on more than 20 years of experience, Hilland aims for designs that are loved for years and passed down across generations.
Lisa Reiser — A designer from northern Sweden, based in Småland, who creates small objects in glass, ceramic, and metal. Her designs are simple yet distinctly original, carrying a mysterious, one-of-a-kind atmosphere.
