Louis Poulsen, the Danish lighting brand founded in 1874, will open the Louis Poulsen Nagoya Store, its third store in Japan, at Midland Square in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, on Wednesday, November 11, 2026. Following the Tokyo and Osaka stores, the new location is meant to strengthen the brand's connection with customers in the Tokai area and further enrich the brand experience in the Japanese market.
The First Store in the Tokai Area
The Nagoya Store will open inside Midland Square, a landmark in front of Nagoya Station.
The store will display a wide range of the brand's signature collections, focusing on products for the home. The space is also designed so that visitors can experience Danish design thinking and Louis Poulsen's philosophy of light. Limited items and new products will be introduced early, making it a place to explore the brand's world in more depth.

Opening Commemorative Event
A special talk session is planned to celebrate the opening of the Nagoya Store and the 100th anniversary of System PH.
Two guests will travel from Denmark for the event: マッツ・ヴィレ, a great-grandchild of Poul Henningsen, and モニク・ファバー, Chief Design Officer of Louis Poulsen. They will talk about Poul Henningsen's design philosophy, the appeal of Danish design, and the value of light in modern life.

Limited-Edition PH 2/1 Table Lamp in Unpainted Brass Hairline
To mark the opening of the Nagoya Store, a special PH 2/1 Table Lamp exclusive to the brand's directly operated stores will go on sale.
The PH 2/1 Table Lamp is a timeless model that carries on the ideas behind the "three-shade system" Poul Henningsen devised in 1926. This special edition uses unpainted brass for the stem and hand-blown glass that produces a soft light. It gives off a comfortable, glare-reduced glow, and the brass changes character the more it is used, so owners can enjoy how its look shifts over time.
Marking System PH's 100th anniversary, the model lets visitors experience the enduring appeal of its light, and advance sales will begin at the Nagoya Store. Quantities are limited.
