Japan Post is turning its postage stamp designs into everyday goods, launching a new lineup of official original merchandise as made-to-order items through its online shop starting August 21 (Friday), 2026. Since Japan's first stamps were issued in 1871, stamp designs have captured a wide range of themes — culture, art, seasonal scenery, and characters — in fine detail over more than 155 years. Japan Post is treating these stamps as "small works of art" and rolling out goods that let people enjoy that appeal more closely in everyday life.
