Guests aged 70 and over can now sign up for the "Onsen Tour Kai Teikiken 2026" (Kai Annual Onsen Pass 2026), a flat-rate subscription covering 12 nights at any of Hoshino Resorts' Kai ryokan properties across Japan. Sales began on April 8, 2026. Now in its fifth year, the pass has sold out every year since its 2022 debut with a limit of 100 groups — and for 2026, availability has expanded to 800 groups. Four newly opening or renovated Kai properties are also included this year.
Background: Making Travel Easier for Seniors
The Kai Annual Onsen Pass was created to address common barriers that discourage seniors from traveling — such as the difficulty of planning itineraries and navigating reservations. Since its launch, the initiative has earned the "21st Sarai Grand Prize" and the "2022 Nikkei Superior Products and Services Award," highlighting its position as a new model for senior travel.
