Kanzaki Men Matsuri (神埼めんまつり) will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at the former Kanzaki City Hall site in Kanzaki, Saga Prefecture, as a project marking the 20th anniversary of Kanzaki's city status. The event is organized by the Kanzaki City Society of Commerce and Industry Youth Division (神埼市商工会青年部).
The festival makes use of Kanzaki somen, one of the city's signature specialty products. It aims to introduce the appeal of Kanzaki to many people from inside and outside the city, while creating community buzz and encouraging exchange.
Giant Flowing Somen from the Lookout Tower
The main attraction is the giant flowing somen (nagashi somen) sent down from the lookout tower (Monomi Yagura) on the festival grounds. Somen noodles come flowing down from a height that is not normally available to experience, and they are served free of charge. The program is designed for everyone from children to adults.
The somen is available in limited quantities and will end once it runs out.
First Illumination Lighting Ceremony at the Lookout Tower
A lighting ceremony for the first-ever illumination of the lookout tower will be held at the same time. The tower is one of Kanzaki City's symbols, and the lights will brighten it up to celebrate the milestone of the city's 20th anniversary.
