Limited-Time Oyster BBQ Event Opens in Saga City - Miyagi Oysters at 880 Yen

A limited-time oyster BBQ event is opening in Saga City, bringing fresh Miyagi Prefecture oysters and a self-service BBQ experience to the area. The "Kaki Bugyo" pop-up oyster hut will operate from February 20 (Friday) to March 8 (Sunday), 2026.

The venue features authentic charcoal grilling, creating a delicious aroma throughout the space. Visitors can enjoy a hands-on BBQ experience, grilling their own oysters and other seafood over traditional binchotan charcoal.

Fresh Oysters and Abundant Menu

Fresh oysters from Miyagi Prefecture are available at just 880 yen per serving. Beyond oysters, the menu includes a variety of grilled seafood such as turban shells, scallops, abalone, surf clams, quahog clams, shrimp, octopus skewers, and squid skewers. Other offerings include fried oysters, oyster rice, oyster soup, beef skewers, pork skewers, frankfurters, French fries, and corn butter, along with various snacks, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages. Daily specials and limited-quantity oysters from different regions may also be available.

This recovery support event began with the desire to help Tohoku oyster producers who struggled with distribution channels after the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. The initiative aims to keep the memory of the disaster alive, revitalize fishing ports, and support continuous recovery efforts in the Tohoku region and local communities through events held across the country.
